Mataram – In celebration of the 44th Anniversary (Dies Natalis) of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), University of Mataram, lecturers, students, and members of the Biology Education Student Association (HMPS) joined forces to organize a social outreach program titled “Biologi Berbagi 2025” (Biology Shares 2025). This activity was part of a series of anniversary events aimed at promoting generosity, social care, and community service. The program took place in two phases, on August 29, 2025, and September 4, 2025.

On August 29, 2025, the first event was held at the Mandalika Elderly Social Service Center, managed by the Social Affairs Office of West Nusa Tenggara Province. The Biology Education team distributed 80 snack and drink packages to the elderly residents in the morning. In addition, students conducted simple interactive games to entertain them, creating a cheerful and heartwarming atmosphere. The day concluded with a communal thanksgiving dinner where traditional rice tumpeng was shared, symbolizing gratitude and unity.

On the same day, the team continued their outreach by visiting Asal Adam Mula Jati Orphanage in West Lombok, where they distributed 50 meal packages to the children. The donation was intended to help meet their daily needs and express compassion for those in need.

The second phase of Biologi Berbagi 2025 took place on September 4, 2025, focusing on supporting Islamic educational institutions. At TPQ Riyadhusholihin in Central Lombok, the team donated 50 copies of the Qur’an and 10 Iqra’ learning books, while at TPQ Darunnuhat in East Lombok, they distributed 60 Qur’an copies and 20 Iqra’ books. These contributions were expected to support Qur’anic learning activities and inspire young students to deepen their religious studies.

The Biologi Berbagi 2025 initiative received warm appreciation from the communities and institutions involved. Beyond material aid, the event emphasized the importance of nurturing empathy, building solidarity, and cultivating social awareness among university students as future leaders.

The Head of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP University of Mataram, expressed that this event was more than a ceremonial tradition — it represented a genuine form of social responsibility that should continue in the years ahead.

“Through Biologi Berbagi, we aim to instill the value that the knowledge we gain in the university must go hand in hand with real contributions to society. May this initiative become both a form of charity and an inspiration to keep sharing,” she stated. With the spirit of “Sharing, Caring, and Serving,” the Biology Education Study Program of FKIP University of Mataram reaffirms its commitment to being present within the community — spreading kindness and strengthening the university’s role as an agent of change that not only produces competent graduates but also socially responsible individuals.
