Mataram, 12 November 2025 — The Student Association of the Biology Education Study Program (HMPS Pendidikan Biologi) at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Mataram, successfully carried out the “Marine Study Club 2025” field trip on Sunday, 26 October 2025, at Seger Beach in Kuta Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
This activity served as a continuation of the earlier public lecture themed “Coastal Ecosystem and Their Role in Marine Environmental Sustainability,” aimed at providing students with hands-on experience in exploring coastal ecosystems and the marine organisms that inhabit them.

The field trip was guided by two supervising lecturers: Prof. Dr. H. Imam Bachtiar, M.Sc., a Professor of Marine Biology and Oceanography, and Eni Suyantri, S.Si., M.Pd., a lecturer of Biology Education and advisor to the Biology Education Student Association.
The activity began at 05.40 WITA and was attended by 50 participants. Students were divided into five groups to observe marine organisms along the beach, with each group positioned approximately five meters apart. The observation focused on two major phyla, Echinodermata and Mollusca, following the direction of Prof. Imam Bachtiar to suit the time and field conditions.

The observation route started from the eastern part of Seger Beach and continued westward, crossing the bridge and circling Seger Hill. Throughout the activity, participants demonstrated strong enthusiasm as they conducted observations, identified marine organisms, and discussed their findings on site.

Overall, the “Marine Study Club 2025” field trip ran smoothly and effectively. The activity is expected to help students broaden their knowledge and strengthen their skills in identifying marine organisms while deepening their understanding of the vital role coastal ecosystems play in maintaining the balance of the marine environment.
