Jakarta, March 5th, 2024 – The Biology Education Program of FKIP Unram, along with the Accounting Program of FEB, has successfully secured funding from the PKKM (Campus Merdeka Competition Program). PKKM is one of the prestigious programs initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture since 2021 to facilitate the transformation of higher education institutions to contribute to the nation’s competitiveness through close collaboration with the Business World and Industry (DUDI) and top world-class universities (QS100 by subject).
As one of the universities in the Liga-1 group (with a number of active students >15,000 and a minimum accreditation of B), Universitas Mataram has submitted 5 PKKM proposals from 5 different study programs. Proposal drafting and upload were conducted in December 2023. The Biology Education Program raised the title “Development of the Maritime Education and Natural Science Research Environment (LENSA) in Rinjani with International Standards”.
The evaluation of proposal quality and feasibility was carried out by the Directorate of Institutions of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The announcement on February 5th, 2024, brought joy to the Biology Education Program as they were declared eligible for the feasibility verification stage. The peak of the selection process took place on March 4th and 5th, 2024, which was the feasibility verification stage before the reviewers. The UNRAM PKKM Team (Biology Education Program and Accounting Program) had to defend the proposal for various PKKM activities before 2 reviewers, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Cipta Ginting, M.Sc., and Antonius Indarto, S.T. M.Eng., Ph.D., as well as one representative from the Ministry of Education and Culture's Inspectorate, Mr. Mustamar.
The Biology Education Program Team received maximum support from the faculty leadership, as evidenced by the presence of the Dean of FKIP, Drs. H. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D., during the feasibility verification. The hard work of the Biology Education Program PKKM team paid off with funding of Rp. 1,580,328,000, which will be used to finance various activities to enhance the capacity of lecturers and improve the competence of students.
