Mataram- Universitas Mataram (Unram) is strengthening its commitment to sustainability by collaborating with Gridwiz to provide environmentally friendly transportation solutions in the form of electric bicycles (E-Bike). On Monday, January 13, 2025, Gridwiz, represented by Mbak Alvi, held a socialization related to the use of E-Bike at the FKIP Hall, University of Mataram.
The event was attended by the leadership of FETT Unram, including the Dean, Head of Study Program, Head of Department, lecturers, and education staff. In his remarks, the Dean of FETT expressed his appreciation for this initiative as part of the University of Mataram’s efforts to support the green campus program and sustainability.
Cooperation Based on Tri Dharma of Higher Education
In her presentation, Mbak Alvi explained that the cooperation between Gridwiz and Mataram University covers the fields of Education, Research, and Community Service. The E-Bike program is expected to not only be an environmentally friendly mobility solution, but also support innovative technology-based academic and research activities.

Technical Use of E-Bike
As a first step, each faculty at Mataram University will receive an allocation of 10 units of electric bikes. To support its operation, each faculty will provide a special parking lot, while technical services and bicycle maintenance are fully covered by Gridwiz.
The operation of this electric bicycle uses an app-based system. The process includes:
- Download the Gridwiz app (which will be launched soon).
- Scan the barcode on the electric bike using the app.
- After that, the bike lock will unlock automatically, and the bike is ready for use.
The rental fee is set at Rp 2,000 per 10 minutes. Technical instructions and a complete guide will be provided at each bicycle parking lot to facilitate users.
Steps Towards a Sustainable Campus
The E-Bike program is in line with the University of Mataram's support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically on points 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities and 13: Handling Climate Change. The use of E-Bike is expected to reduce carbon emissions and create a healthier transportation culture on campus.
With the arrival of E-Bike, Universitas Mataram continues to show progressive steps towards digital transformation and sustainability, while facilitating the mobility of the academic community in a modern and efficient way.(thor)
