Mataram, September 2, 2025 <\/strong>\u2013 The orientation program for students participating in the Teaching Practice (PLP), Teaching Assistance, Independent Internship, and Independent Study at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education<\/a> (FKIP), University of Mataram<\/a>, placed strong emphasis on ethics, digital literacy, and inspirational communication. In front of 1,344 participants filling the Abu Bakar Auditorium, faculty leaders highlighted that academic readiness must go hand in hand with maturity and professionalism in the workplace. <\/p>\n

Representing the Dean, Vice Dean I Prof. Dr. Saprizal Hadisaputra, M.Sc., delivered three key messages. \u201cFirst, do not be easily provoked in your assigned schools. Second, use social media wisely. Third, share inspiration in the right way,\u201d he said. He reminded students that they are \u201cguests\u201d in their assigned schools or institutions, and therefore, maintaining good conduct and professional ethics is essential. <\/p>\n

The Head of LPTPP FKIP Unram, Dr. Amrullah, S.Si., M.Si., reported that the participants consisted of 1,056 students from the PLP program, 212 from Teaching Assistance, 75 from Independent Internship, and one from Independent Study. Of the total, PLP made up around 78.6 percent, followed by Teaching Assistance with 15.8 percent, Independent Internship 5.6 percent, and Independent Study 0.1 percent. \u201cWe hope this program runs smoothly. Our expectation is that all students conduct themselves properly and always uphold the good name of themselves, their families, and the institution,\u201d he said. He also emphasized that attendance in the orientation is mandatory, and absence would result in the deferral of participation to the following semester.<\/p>\n<\/div>

From the study program perspective, the highest participation came from English Education (192 students) and Indonesian Language and Literature Education (188), followed by Primary School Teacher Education (121) and Mathematics Education (119). This cross-department involvement reflects the strong enthusiasm of students to gain hands-on teaching experience as preparation for becoming professional educators. <\/p>\n

In addition to the leadership briefing, the orientation featured practical sessions covering ethics, standard operating procedures (SOP), and implementation guidelines for PLP, Teaching Assistance, Independent Internship, and Independent Study. The materials were designed to prepare students for real classroom dynamics and help them optimize their field experience, including proper communication with mentor teachers, responsible social media use, and reporting procedures in case of challenges. <\/p>\n

The event was also aligned with sustainable development goals. SDG 4 (Quality Education) was reflected in efforts to strengthen the competence of future educators, while SDG 16 (Strong Institutions) was embodied through transparent, ethical, and collaborative academic governance.
