Mataram, August 26, 2024 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the University of Mataram held a public lecture themed “Demolinguistics and the Hegemony of Language and Literature” at the Hall of Building D, FKIP. The event was attended by students, lecturers, and others interested in the development of linguistics and literature in Indonesia.

The public lecture featured two expert speakers: Dr. Suyanto SA, M.Si, and Fajrul Falah, S.Hum., M.Hum., from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Diponegoro University. Both are well-known in academic circles for their contributions to linguistic and literary studies, particularly in understanding the dynamics of language amidst demographic changes and social forces.

The event began with a warm welcome from the Vice Dean 1 of FKIP, Dr. Saprizal Hadisaputra, M.Sc. In his remarks, Dr. Saprizal emphasized the importance of the lecture’s theme, considering it highly relevant to current social conditions. “I would like to welcome the speakers who are present today. This theme is very interesting and closely related to today’s societal life. I hope all participants follow the lecture attentively and gain as much benefit as possible from the knowledge shared by the speakers,” said Dr. Saprizal before officially opening the event.
