The Undergraduate English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Mataram, once again demonstrated its commitment to expanding international academic networks through an International Collaborative Teaching program in collaboration with the Center of Language Studies Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.
This activity serves as one of the study program’s strategic initiatives to provide students with a globally standardized learning experience. In its implementation, lecturers from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, had the opportunity to teach several courses online to students of the Undergraduate English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Mataram.
The involvement of these international lecturers enriched the learning atmosphere through cross-country perspectives, particularly in the field of English language education and teaching. Students were given the opportunity to interact directly with academics from an overseas institution, thereby broadening their academic horizons while enhancing their communication competence in a global context.
In addition to online teaching, this program was also developed through a team teaching scheme between lecturers from Universiti Teknologi MARA and Universitas Mataram. This collaboration enabled both parties to jointly design, deliver, and evaluate the learning process, thereby making the quality of instruction more comprehensive and innovative.
Through this program, lecturers were also provided with opportunities to exchange best practices in teaching strategies, evaluation methods, and the development of internationally oriented teaching materials. This initiative is expected to further strengthen the academic quality of the Undergraduate English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Mataram.
This International Collaborative Teaching program is in line with Universitas Mataram’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
In the future, the collaboration between the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Mataram, and Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, is expected to continue expanding through various other international programs, such as collaborative research, lecturer and student exchanges, and the development of globally oriented curricula.
