Saturday, May 2, 2025 — The Graphic Design Class, organized by the Physics Education Student Association (HIMAFIS) of FKIP, University of Mataram, is a skills development program designed in response to the growing demand for creative technology competencies among students. In today’s digital era, graphic design skills have become essential—not only to support academic and organizational activities, but also to open new career opportunities. Through this program, HIMAFIS aims to bridge that need by providing systematic, structured, and hands-on graphic design training—while maintaining the educational character of physics education students.

The program is delivered over several intensive sessions covering popular design software such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and CorelDRAW, along with both basic and advanced techniques in designing scientific posters, educational infographics, social media content, and organizational visual branding. Participants are mentored by experienced design practitioners and HIMAFIS alumni working in the field of visual communication design. In addition to technical training, the class also emphasizes leadership and collaboration—encouraging students to engage in discussions, teamwork, and final projects that contribute to student activities and academic publications on campus.
Through this initiative, HIMAFIS reaffirms its commitment not only to developing academically excellent future physics educators, but also to producing graduates who are adaptable to technological advancements and the creative industry. The 2025 Graphic Design Class serves as a platform for students to build cross-disciplinary skills relevant to 21st-century demands, enhance their personal portfolios, and increase their competitiveness in the job market. The participants’ enthusiasm, the quality of the materials, and the spirit of collaboration throughout the program demonstrate that physics education students can indeed evolve into creative, innovative, and inspiring individuals—both within and beyond the realm of education.
