As a concrete contribution to advancing teacher professionalism, the community service team organized a program titled “Research and Writing Are Fun! PTK and Scientific Article Training for Teachers at SMPN 2 Jonggat.” This initiative was driven by the need for teachers to continuously improve their competencies—not only in classroom teaching practice but also in researching and documenting their best practices through scholarly writing. The training was designed to address the real challenges teachers face in reflecting on their teaching and producing high-quality Classroom Action Research (PTK), while also equipping them with the skills to write scientific articles suitable for publication in educational journals.
During the training, participants not only received theoretical material but also engaged directly in practical activities such as preparing PTK proposals, discussing case studies, and practicing writing scientific articles based on their own teaching experiences. Using a communicative, interactive, and hands-on approach, the training encouraged teachers to bring everyday learning challenges into the realm of research and publication. The facilitators were experienced academics and education practitioners skilled in classroom action research and scientific publishing. Intensive guidance was provided to ensure each teacher could design relevant PTK projects and present their findings in well-structured, scholarly writing.
