The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the University of Mataram welcomed assessors from the Independent Education Accreditation Institution (LAMDIK) for the Field Assessment (AL) of the Undergraduate Sociology Education Program. This AL specifically focused on the Undergraduate Sociology Education Program. The activity took place at FKIP, mainly at themain Hall A on the 3rd floor, for two days, from February 29 to March 1, 2024. The two assessors for this AL were Amika Wardana, S.Sos., M.A., Ph.D., from Yogyakarta State University, and Yosafat Hermawan Trinugraha, S.Sos., M.A., Ph.D., from Sebelas Maret University. The assessment were firstly done for the Program Management Unit (UPPS), accompanied by the Rector of the University of Mataram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., the Vice Rector for General and Financial Affairs: Prof. Dr. Sukardi, M.Pd., the Head Librarian of University of Mataram, the Head of Guidance and Counseling and Career Development (BKPK), and the Head of the Quality Assurance and Learning Development Institute (LPMPP), Dr. Sitti Latifah, M.Sc. In addition to the UPPS, assessments were also conducted on the Sociology Education Program, involving stakeholders, alums, students, educational staff, and lecturers of the Sociology Education Program. The process also covered the evaluation of facilities, infrastructure, and microteaching learning processes.

The Rector of the University of Mataram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., PhD, opened the event, followed by speeches from the two assessors and the Dean of FKIP University of Mataram, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D. At the end of the assessment, after the handover of the minutes, the assessors provided several positive notes regarding the Sociology Education Program and FKIP as the program of management unit.

In general, the results for the nine assessed criteria were good, with financial standards exceeding the set standards by the Independent Education Accreditation Institution (LAMDIK). The alums tracer found that what alums gained in the program immensely helped them secure employment and advance their careers, particularly in implementing learning. The program’s excellence in social research was also considered very good and recommended for further development. With these positive notes, it is hoped that the Sociology Education Program can achieve the best results as expected. (erf)
