Mataram, 23 Mei 2025 — The Student Association of the Chemistry Education Study Program (HMPS P. Kimia), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Mataram, has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing scientific writing skills among students. On Thursday, May 22, 2025, the department officially launched its flagship initiative under the Education Division: the Thesis, Essay, and PKM Writing Classes, aimed at cultivating academic culture and boosting students’ competitive edge.
This comprehensive program is tailored to equip students with the skills and strategies needed for academic writing—covering undergraduate thesis preparation, essay composition, and proposal writing for the Student Creativity Program (PKM). The goal is not only to enhance students’ knowledge and writing abilities but also to encourage them to graduate on time and excel in prestigious national competitions.
The Thesis Writing Class will run for five months with ten intensive sessions, while the Essay and PKM Classes will be held over two months in six focused sessions. To maximize accessibility and flexibility, the sessions will be conducted in both offline and online formats using digital platforms like Google Meet and Zoom.
These classes are primarily targeted at active students with a strong interest in scientific writing—whether for completing their final projects or entering national-level essay and PKM competitions. Notably, the classes will be mentored directly by experienced faculty members and academic teams, ensuring each session provides meaningful and inspirational learning experiences.
With a structured teaching approach—ranging from material presentations and interactive discussions to guided mentoring and writing practice with constructive feedback—this program is expected to produce critical, creative, and productive student writers capable of generating high-quality academic work.
This is more than just a training program; it is a long-term intellectual investment for students as they prepare for outstanding academic and professional careers. Through this initiative, HMPS P.
