As part of efforts to improve the quality of mathematics learning at the elementary school level and prepare students for the 2025 District/City Science Olympiad (OSK), the Mathematics Education Study Program at FKIP Universitas Mataram consistently conducts regular coaching sessions at SDN 7 Mataram.

The program is directly supervised by Ni Made Intan Kertiyani, S.Pd., M.Pd., a lecturer from the Mathematics Education Study Program at FKIP Universitas Mataram. It has been conducted regularly twice a week since January 2025, every Monday and Friday. The coaching sessions are attended by 15 selected students from grades 3, 4, and 5 who show strong interest and potential in mathematics.

The coaching sessions focus on advanced-level math problems, with key topics such as geometry and combinatorics, designed to sharpen students’ logical, analytical, and creative thinking skills. The materials are also tailored to meet the needs of elementary students preparing for the OSK and serve as a foundation for those aiming to compete in the National Science Olympiad (OSN).

As a recent update, the latest coaching session was held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, as an additional intensive session ahead of the upcoming city-level OSK selection. The activity continues to embody the spirit of collaboration between higher education and elementary schools in fostering a learning environment that is both competitive and enjoyable.

Ni Made Intan Kertiyani explained that the purpose of this coaching program is not only to improve students’ academic abilities, but also to build their confidence and perseverance in tackling challenging Olympiad-level problems.

The administration of SDN 7 Mataram expressed great appreciation for the program and hopes that the collaboration will continue as part of a long-term strategy to nurture high-achieving students in science and mathematics.
