Jombang, 02 December 2023 – The Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Education (FIP), Hasyim Asy’ari University (UNHASYI) Tebuireng Jombang, in collaboration with the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), University of Mataram (UNRAM), held a National Seminar with the theme “Differentiated Learning Strategy and its Practice in the Kurikulum Merdeka”. The event, held online via the Zoom application, took place on Saturday, 02 December 2023.
This event began with singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya and Mars UNHASYI. Next, there was a welcoming activity by the chairman of the committee and the Dean of FIP UNHASYI. The highlight of this national webinar event was the presentation of material from two presenters, first, Ratih Ayu Apsari, S.Pd., M.Sc., M.Pd., who is a lecturer from the Mathematics Education Study Program FKIP UNRAM and is currently pursuing doctoral education at University of California, Berkeley. The second speaker, namely Dr. Siti Khabibah, M.Pd., lecturer at Surabaya State University. This webinar was moderated by Sari Saraswati, M.Pd., a lecturer at Hasyim Asy’ari University, Tebuireng, Jombang. The two experts discussed the latest issues in the field of learning strategies and the Independent Curriculum which are currently hotly discussed. This webinar was equipped with a discussion and question and answer session and closed with a group photo.
On this occasion, Nihayah (ed: committee), also stated that “the material presented by Mrs. Ratih is weighty. Moreover, not only theory is presented but there are also simulations on mathematical material. The way it is delivered is easy to understand and questions are answered according to the question, without going anywhere.” The hope is that the form of collaboration between the FKIP Mathematics Education Study Program, University of Mataram, and the FIP Mathematics Education Study Program, Hasyim Asy’ari Teburieng University, Jombang will not stop at this national webinar. Harapannya, bentuk jalinan kerjasama antara Prodi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Mataram dan Prodi Pendidikan Matematika FIP Universitas Hasyim Asy’ari Teburieng, Jombang tidak terhenti hanya pada webinar nasional ini. However, it can be continued through collaboration and innovation in various other activities that can make a real contribution to improving the quality of mathematics education in Indonesia.
