Mataram, August 14, 2024 – In an effort to improve the quality and professionalism of educators, the Sociology Education Study Program at FKIP Unram collaborated with the National Professional Certification Institute (LSP INNAS) to conduct competency certification for its lecturers. This certification aims to ensure that lecturers meet industry standards and can adapt to the latest developments in sociology education. The two-day event (August 12-13, 2024) was attended by lecturers from the Sociology Education Study Program who participated in a series of training sessions and competency assessments.
The Head of the Sociology Education Study Program, Hairil Wadi, S.Pd., M.Pd., stated that this certification is an important step in maintaining the quality of education provided to students. “This competency certification not only boosts the confidence of lecturers in teaching but also assures students that they are receiving education from competent instructors who meet national standards,” said Hairil Wadi, S.Pd., M.Pd. in his speech.
Additionally, LSP INNAS representative, Mr. Sumantri, SE.MM, noted that this program is one of LSP INNAS’s efforts to support the improvement of education quality in Indonesia. “We hope that through this certification, lecturers can continue to develop themselves and make significant contributions to the field of education, particularly in sociology,” said Sumantri.
The certification covered several aspects of competency, from subject matter expertise to the ability to use innovative and effective teaching methods. After completing various stages of the competency assessment, lecturers who passed received a nationally recognized certificate. The participating lecturers expressed great enthusiasm and felt they had gained new knowledge that could be implemented in their teaching process. “This activity is very beneficial for us as lecturers, especially in enhancing our competencies in sociology education. We are also more prepared to face the challenges in the constantly evolving field of education,” said one participant, Mr. Muhammad Ilyas, M.A.
With the success of this event, it is hoped that the Sociology Education Study Program can continue to produce high-quality graduates who are competitive in the job market, as well as lecturers who are increasingly professional and competent in their field.
