Mataram, October 27, 2024 – A proud achievement has been made by students of the University of Mataram (Unram). One of the students from the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Program, Vega Novia Asrila, has been awarded the title of NTB Maritime Environmental Ambassador 2024. Vega earned this title at the NTB Environmental Ambassador selection event organized by the Provincial Department of Environment and Forestry of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) held at the Mataram City Mayor’s Office Ballroom.
This achievement received special recognition from the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D., who expressed his pride in Vega’s accomplishment. He stated that this award not only brings honor to Vega but also enhances the reputation of Unram at the provincial level, particularly in the field of environmental issues. “This success demonstrates the commitment of FKIP students to environmental preservation and inspires other students to excel,” said the Dean.
During the event, Vega underwent various stages of rigorous selection, showcasing her competence and commitment to environmental issues, especially in the maritime sector, which is the main focus of this year’s environmental ambassador program. As the NTB Maritime Environmental Ambassador 2024, Vega is expected to actively campaign for environmental awareness, particularly in preserving marine and coastal ecosystems in the NTB region.
This achievement is hoped to motivate all students at Unram to become more actively involved in positive activities and contribute to society. With the spirit demonstrated by Vega, Unram is optimistic about continuing to support its students in contributing to environmental sustainability programs.
