Mataram, February 3, 2024 – FKIP (Faculty of Teacher Training and Education), University of Mataram, graduated 249 students in its inaugural convocation ceremony for the year 2024 on Friday, (2/2/2024). This ceremony accommodated two graduating periods, namely December 2023 and January 2024. The event took place at the Main Hall of FKIP, University of Mataram, in a solemn atmosphere. Members of the deanery, department chairman, educational staff, and participants from both graduating periods attended to celebrate the occasion. Dr. Saprizal Hadisaputra, M.Sc., the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, presented the Decree of Convocation for both periods, December and January, with the following details: For the December 2023 ceremony, a total of 128 students completed their education. Meanwhile, for the January 2024, 121 students earned their degrees. These achievements span various study programs within the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), showcasing success and accomplishment in their academic journeys. Details of academic achievements also include an impressive number of Cum Laude honors. In the December period, 26 students were awarded the Cum Laude predicate, while in January, 21 students achieved this distinction. This number reflects the dedication and outstanding achievements of the students in attaining high academic standards. These accomplishments reflect the quality of education provided by FKIP, University of Mataram and the students’ commitment to achieving success in their academic pursuits.
During his speech, Drs. H. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., PhD, the Dean of FKIP, crafted a memorable moment by conveying an inspiring message to the graduating students. He congratulated their success in completing their education and provided valuable guidance for facing challenges in the real world. The Dean also encouraged the new graduates to continually improve their communication and collaboration skills, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in addressing the dynamics of society and the workforce. While giving wise advice, he also said that success comes from diligent efforts and sincere prayers. "Good fortune is the result of genuine effort and sincere prayer; both must be balanced," he stated. This message provides deep motivation to the graduates, reminding them that the journey after convocation requires readiness, hard work, and courage to explore a challenging new world. In a proud moment, a student representative, Duwy Wulandary, a graduate of Master of English Education with outstanding academic achievements, shared her experience with the audience. With a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.00, Duwy inspired her peers. In her sincere expression, Duwy expressed gratitude to the faculty and educational staff who provided full support throughout the long academic journey. She explained that their role was as teachers, mentors and motivators who helped students overcome academic challenges. Duwy also emphasized the importance of learning from failure as a step towards success. "Failure is not the end of everything but a valuable lesson that shapes us into stronger and wiser individuals," she passionately stated. Her message reminded all graduates to view every obstacle as an opportunity to grow and develop, serving as a foundation for achieving higher accomplishments in the future. The event concluded with prayer, expressing gratitude and hope for the graduates. FKIP University of Mataram congratulates the graduates on this extraordinary achievement, hoping it serves as a strong foundation for future success.
