Mataram – The Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Mataram University (Unram) has successfully carried out an Accreditation Field Assessment on December 12-13, 2024. This activity aims to evaluate the academic quality, management, and facilities owned by the study program to determine the latest accreditation rating.

This assessment was carried out by two assessors from the Education Self-Accreditation Institute (LAMDIK), namely Dr. Riyadi, S.Pd., M.Si., and Prof. Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd. Both appreciated the various aspects that have been achieved by the PGSD FKIP Unram Study Program, ranging from relevant curriculum to good collaboration between lecturers, students, and external parties. This activity is also the last Field Assessment of the entire field assessment conducted in 2024.

The first day of the assessment began with the opening which was attended by the Rector of the University of Mataram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., Vice Rector, Heads of Units in the University of Mataram, and Leaders in FKIP University of Mataram. In his remarks, the Rector expressed his hope that the results of this assessment could motivate the improvement of academic and service quality in FKIP. He also gave high appreciation to FKIP Unram for successfully obtaining 9 out of 12 study programs that received the title of UNGGUL from LAMDIK, an achievement that shows a strong commitment to the quality of education.

After the opening, the assessors immediately examined supporting documents, such as academic reports, lecturers' research track records, and alumni data. The assessors also held interview sessions with lecturers, students, alumni, and partners of the Study Program to get a more comprehensive picture of the performance of the study program. On the second day, the assessment continued with a visit to learning support facilities, such as classrooms, libraries, and laboratories. The assessors also took the time to talk with students regarding their experiences during their education in the PGSD Study Program at FKIP Unram.

The Dean of FKIP, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D., expressed his gratitude for the smoothness of this assessment. "We hope the results of this accreditation can reflect our efforts in providing the best education to students. Regardless of the final result, this assessment is a moment of reflection to continue improving," he said. The official results of the accreditation will be announced by LAMDIK in the next few weeks. If it obtains superior accreditation, the PGSD FKIP Unram Study Program is expected to be able to increase competitiveness both at the national and international levels. This assessment activity is also proof of Unram's commitment to supporting quality education that can produce future professional educators.
