Mataram, August 11, 2025 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), University of Mataram, officially opened the Matriculation and Orientation Program for new Master’s and Doctoral students for the 2025/2026 academic year on Monday, August 11, 2025. The event, held in the Auditorium of Building A, 3rd Floor, was attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, program coordinators, and all 64 new students.
This program is not only a routine academic agenda but also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 on Quality Education, which emphasizes the importance of quality education at all levels. By combining academic orientation with moral development and mindset transformation, FKIP Unram ensures that postgraduate graduates will not only possess strong academic competencies but also contribute meaningfully to society.
In his opening report, Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Education, Prof. Drs. Mahyuni, M.A., Ph.D., , Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Education, Prof. Drs. Mahyuni, M.A., Ph.D., reminded the new students to view postgraduate study as a profound learning journey. “Seek knowledge until the very end of life. Do not consider yourself a senior even if you have much experience. It is never too late to learn. The highest achievement of education is character, and the most important thing is to understand our academic environment,” he emphasized. He also presented the student distribution for this academic year: 15 in the Master’s Program in English Education, 29 in the Master’s Program in Indonesian Language Education, 10 in the Master’s Program in Elementary Education, 4 in the Master’s Program in Biology Education, and 6 in the Doctoral Program in Education.


Meanwhile, The Dean of FKIP Unram, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D., stressed the importance of mindset transformation for postgraduate students. “You are students who must shift your mindset from undergraduate studies. Understand these two key questions: where do we come from, and where are we going? With that, we will stay focused on our goals and grasp the broader framework of knowledge,” he stated. He also advised students not to complain about assignments, to maintain regular communication with program coordinators or administrative staff, and to make the most of academic supervision. “I hope all of you can graduate on time with outstanding achievements. Faculty members and program coordinators must be ready to serve students,” he added.
The event also reflected SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, as achieving quality education relies on strong collaboration among faculty leaders, lecturers, education staff, and students. With this synergy, it is expected that all students will complete their studies on time and contribute to advancing sustainable development in education.
The official opening of the Matriculation and Orientation Program for the 2025/2026 academic year by the Dean of FKIP Universitas Mataram marked the beginning of the academic journey for the new postgraduate students at FKIP Unram.
