Mataram, August 19, 2025 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the University of Mataram welcomed a benchmarking visit from Cenderawasih University (Uncen). The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and share best practices in managing education faculties, particularly in addressing the challenges of higher education in the global era.

The Cenderawasih University delegation was warmly received by FKIP Unram leadership, including Dean Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Dean I Prof. Dr. Saprizal Hadisaputra, M.Sc., Vice Dean II Dr. Santi Farmasari, M.Ed.TESOL., and Vice Dean III Dr. Muh. Makhrus, M.Pd. In his remarks, the Dean emphasized the importance of synergy among universities to deliver quality education and enhance national competitiveness.

“FKIP Unram continuously strives to improve itself through academic quality enhancement, research development, and national as well as international collaborations. We welcome this benchmarking visit as an opportunity to learn from one another and exchange experiences. Hopefully, this good relationship can be followed up with concrete collaborations,” he stated.

During the visit, the Uncen delegation also sought consultation on strategies to increase the number of full professors at their institution. FKIP Unram shared its experiences in faculty career development, academic governance, and efforts to accelerate the promotion of lecturers to professorship.

The benchmarking agenda included discussions on study program management, strategies for maintaining “Excellent” accreditation status, curriculum development based on the Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) framework, as well as strengthening research and scientific publications. Both institutions also explored potential collaborations in community service, faculty exchange, and student exchange programs.
