Friday, December 8, 2023 – the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram, was enthusiastic and creative when Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program students held an exhibition of entrepreneurial products. This event is a tangible manifestation of the entrepreneurial spirit instilled in their curriculum under the guidance of two accompanying lecturers, Prof. Dr. Gito Hadiprayitno, M.Si, and Anindita Suliya Hangesti Mandra Kusuma, M.Pd. This exhibition is a vehicle for students to show the results of their work and innovation in entrepreneurship lectures. Anindita, one of the accompanying lecturers for the Entrepreneurship Course, enthusiastically opened the event by giving short remarks. Anindita motivated students to continue to innovate and dare to explore their potential. She emphasized the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills among students to prepare for an increasingly competitive world of work. “Entrepreneurship is not only about creating products but also building a creative, innovative mentality and daring to take risks,” said Anindita.

The chair of the IWAPI (Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association) NTB, Mrs. Baiq Diah Ratu Ganefi, several lecturers at FKIP Unram, and Mr. Dr. Muh. Makhrus, M.Pd., the vice dean for student and alums affairs, and Mr. Dr. Saprizal Hadisaputra, M.Si., the deputy dean for academic affairs, were also present at the event.

This exhibition displays various creative products from students, ranging from food products to innovative eco-brick bags and chairs. The students proudly presented their products to visitors, explaining the inspiration behind each creation and how they applied the learning concepts they had learned in class to their entrepreneurial products. Fellow students also expressed their appreciation, provided support, and asked enthusiastically about the creative process behind these products.

In addition to providing a venue for students to display their work, this entrepreneurship course and exhibition teach them about marketing, company management, and direct customer engagement. Furthermore, this event opens doors for cooperation between students, neighborhood business owners, and off-campus creative groups. Within the NTB Young Entrepreneurs group, the chairman of IWAPI NTB has made a partnership program available for the sustainability of student-developed goods.

Through the success of this exhibition, students from the Education Study Program for Indonesian Language and Literature demonstrate that they are growing not just as competent scholars but also as creative, innovative, and socially engaged individuals. This entrepreneurial product marks a significant turning point in the student’s development as change agents for the better and a celebration of creativity.
