Mataram, July 24, 2024 – The Biology Education Study Program at the University of Mataram (Unram) carried out an accreditation field assessment conducted by the Education Self-Accreditation Institute (LAMDIK). The assessment which lasted for two days, from 24 to 25 July 2024, received special attention because the process was more rigorous than the previous study program. The event was opened with remarks from the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Harikusumo, M.Agr.st, Ph.D., who was present to provide direct support. In his remarks, the Rector of Unram expressed his hope that the results of this field assessment could bring the Biology Education Study Program to achieve superior accreditation. “We really hope that the results of this assessment can improve the accreditation of our study program to be superior, thus further strengthening Unram’s reputation in the national arena,” said the Rector.

After the speech from the Rector, the Head of LAMDIK Assessors, Dr. Drs. Sulisetijono, M.Si, also gave a speech. He emphasized that the main purpose of the arrival of the assessor team was to confirm what had been written in the Self Evaluation Report (LED). "We come to confirm what has been written in the LED so you don't need to be tense," said Dr. Sulisetijono, trying to ease the tension among the assessment participants. During the two days of implementation, the assessors from LAMDIK conducted various evaluation activities, including document review, observation of facilities and infrastructure, and interviews with lecturers, students, and education staff. This assessment aims to ensure that the Biology Education Study Program at Unram meets the standards set by LAMDIK and continues to improve the quality of education provided. With a more rigorous process, it is expected that this assessment can provide a clear picture of the strengths and areas that need to be improved in the Biology Education Study Program. The results of this assessment are expected to bring this study program to achieve superior accreditation, strengthening Unram's position as a quality higher education institution. This field assessment event emphasizes Unram's commitment in maintaining and improving the quality of education. It is expected that graduates of the Biology Education Study Program have high competence and quality, in accordance with the needs and development of the times.(fu)
