Mataram, August 5, 2024 – LAMDIK recently conducted an accreditation field assessment for the Chemistry Education Study Program in the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training at University of Mataram (Unram). The event spanned two days, from August 5 to 6, 2024, and aimed to evaluate the quality and standards of education in the chemistry study program. The Chemistry Education Study Program is the fifth program to be assessed by LAMDIK assessors.
The assessment began with an opening ceremony, featuring remarks from the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Harikusumo, M.Agr.st, Ph.D. In his speech, Prof. Bambang expressed his hope that this assessment process would yield excellent results and lead the Chemistry Education Study Program to achieve superior accreditation. “This assessment is an opportunity for us to demonstrate Unram’s commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of education. I hope the Chemistry Education Study Program can achieve superior accreditation, thereby strengthening Unram’s progress towards becoming a PTNBH,” he said.
The assessors from the Education Self Accreditation Institute (LAMDIK) who attended this event were Prof. Dr. rer.nat Muharram, M.Si., and Dr. Hairida, M.Pd. In his remarks, Prof. Muharram stated that the assessor team would conduct a thorough evaluation to ensure that the quality standards of education in the Chemistry Education Study Program have been met. "We are here to confirm and objectively assess various aspects of this study program. This evaluation is important to ensure the quality of education provided," said Prof. Muharram. During the two-day assessment, the assessors conducted various activities, including document review, facility observation, and interviews with lecturers, students, education staff, alumni, and graduate users. This process aims to get a comprehensive picture of the strengths and areas that need to be improved in the Chemistry Education Study Program at Unram. It is hoped that the results of this assessment can provide valuable input for improving the quality of the study program. The Rector of Unram expressed optimism that this assessment will bring positive results and have a significant impact on the development of the Chemistry Education Study Program. This field assessment event shows Unram's commitment in maintaining and improving the quality of education in all study programs. With superior accreditation, it is expected that graduates from the Chemistry Education Study Program will have competence and quality in accordance with the needs of the world of work and the development of science. The closing of the assessment event was held on August 6, 2024, with the submission of temporary results from the assessor team to the university.
