Badung, September 30, 2024 – Two students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Mataram University made the campus proud again by achieving brilliant achievements at the Badung Open Karate International Championship II 2024. This international competition is a showcase for karate athletes from various countries, by competing in various categories and classes.
FKIP student, Wulan Ramalah Juana, won 1st place in the Kata Beregu Under 21 Women’s category, an extraordinary achievement that shows cohesiveness and high technique in the martial art of karate. This victory solidified Wulan’s position as one of the most talented athletes in the international arena. Not only that, her twin sister, Lintang Kartika Juana, also successfully brought home a bronze medal after winning 3rd place in the Women’s Under 21 – 50kg Individual Kumite category. Lintang showed great fighting spirit in the kumite match, which prioritizes physical strength and strategy.
The Dean of FKIP University of Mataram expressed his deep appreciation for the achievements of the two students. "We are very proud of Wulan and Lintang's achievements. They not only excel in academics, but also in sports, which shows that FKIP students have talents and potential in various fields," he said.
Furthermore, the Dean hopes that this achievement can inspire other students to continue developing themselves, both in academic and non-academic fields. "We hope that more and more students will be motivated to excel at the national and international levels, both in the fields of arts, sports, and science," he added. With this victory, Wulan and Lintang Juana have proven that discipline, dedication, and fighting spirit can bring them to achieve achievements in prestigious international events, and make the University of Mataram proud in the world of sports.(thor)
