Mataram, 25-26 October 2024 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Mataram (Unram) held a field assessment for the Early Childhood Education Teacher Education (PG PAUD) Study Program. This activity was held directly at FKIP Universitas Mataram by presenting a team of assessors from the Educational Self-Accreditation Institute (Lamdik), namely Prof. Dr. Sigit Purnama, S.Pd.I., M.Pd. from Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University and Dr. Suci Utami Putri, M.Pd. from the University of Education Indonesia.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., along with all elements of university and faculty officials. In his speech, the Rector conveyed Unram’s big vision to achieve superior accreditation with various strategic steps, including budget allocations of up to billions of rupiah for accreditation acceleration, increasing the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU), and transformation towards the status of State Universities with Legal Entity (PTNBH). The Rector also emphasized that FKIP Unram has a major contribution, filling almost a quarter of the number of professors at Unram. Furthermore, Prof. Bambang said that Unram has been ranked third in achieving KPIs for BLU universities in Indonesia by 2023. To achieve the vision of “world class university,” Unram has opened many international classes and managed to attract 187 international students this year. “World class university requires three excellences: excellence in teaching, excellence in research, and excellence in administration,” explained the Rector, emphasizing Unram’s concrete steps in developing its academic reputation. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Sigit Purnama in his speech stated that the assessment will focus on verifying the data that has been compiled in the Study Program Performance Report (LKPD). The two assessors will divide the tasks to examine various related aspects on the two days of the assessment. “We hope that the task force team can adjust to the planned data verification schedule. Hopefully this assessment activity can run smoothly,” he said. With this assessment, Unram is committed to continuously improving the quality of education, strengthening accreditation, and maintaining public trust in the achievements of the university, in order to bring Unram towards the vision of becoming a superior and competitive international standard university.(thor)
