Mataram – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Mataram held a semi-workshop on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in the Hall of Building A FKIP Universitas Mataram. This activity presented Dr. Raqib Chowdhury, a Senior Lecturer from the School of Curriculum Teaching & Inclusive Education, Monash University, as the main speaker.

Addressing two important topics, Applying Scholarships for Australian Universities and Writing High-Quality Literature Reviews, this workshop aims to equip students with the knowledge and strategic skills to continue their education to Australia and improve their academic writing skills.

The event was opened by the Dean of FKIP Universitas Mataram, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D., who in his speech reminded the participants to take this activity seriously and complete each session until the end. “This activity is a golden opportunity to gain knowledge directly from international experts, so I hope students can make the most of it,” said the Dean.

This workshop is divided into two sessions, namely Morning Session: Applying Scholarships for Australian Universities. Dr. Raqib Chowdhury provided practical guidance on how to apply for scholarships for Australian universities, including tips on drafting effective applications, understanding the requirements, and preparing optimally.

Afternoon Session: Writing High-Quality Literature Reviews. In this session, participants are invited to learn how to write quality literature reviews, involving in-depth analysis of scholarly sources, and understanding the structure and international standards in academic writing.

During the workshop, students not only listen to presentations but are also invited to work in groups and discuss directly with the speakers. This approach is designed to train practical skills in writing, while improving understanding of global academic writing standards.

This activity is part of the commitment of FETT Universitas Mataram in supporting students to achieve higher educational goals, in line with SDGs number 4(Quality Education) and SDGs number 17(Partnerships for the Goals). By presenting international experts, FETT emphasizes its position as a globally oriented and competitive faculty.(thor)
