Mataram – The Rector of Unram reviewed the preparation of lectures to international accreditation at FKIP Unram. The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Mataram held a Coordination Meeting on February 12, 2025 at the Senate Session, 2nd Floor Building A FKIP Unram. The meeting was attended by the Dean of FKIP, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D., and the Rector of the University of Mataram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., along with the academic staff of FKIP Unram.
In his remarks, the Dean emphasized that every challenge and obstacle in the academic world has lessons that need to be grateful for. He explained that this meeting aims to prepare lectures, compile academic guidelines, and scientific work guidelines. In addition, FKIP is currently preparing for international accreditation as a further step in improving the quality of education and faculty competitiveness. This step is in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) number 4, namely Quality Education, with a focus on improving access and quality of higher education.
Meanwhile, the Rector of the University of Mataram, in his direction, emphasized that after the target of 12 excellent study programs was achieved, FKIP faced a new challenge, namely international accreditation. Therefore, the faculty was asked to immediately identify the international accreditation scheme to be addressed and prepare all the necessary needs. The Rector also instructed the Dean to coordinate with all relevant parties, including laboratories and other supporting units, to ensure readiness for international accreditation.

Furthermore, FKIP Unram is considered the most confident faculty in facing academic challenges at the university level. Therefore, some strategic steps suggested by the Rector include increasing and improving international accreditation indicators, revitalizing laboratories and classrooms to support online learning, and expanding national and international cooperation. In addition, the budget allocation for overseas travel to expand academic networks, the development of joint degree programs with foreign universities, and the implementation of strong module-based online learning are also a major concern. These measures support SDGs 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDGs 17 (Partnerships to Achieve Goals) through strengthening educational infrastructure and collaboration with various global institutions.
The Rector also encouraged FKIP to organize international conferences involving competitions for students to enhance the academic experience and competitiveness of FKIP students at the global level. This initiative supports SDGs 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by encouraging students to compete and build skills relevant to the world of work.
With these various steps, FKIP Unram is committed to maintaining its academic reputation at the national and international levels and continuing to innovate in the learning system. Careful preparation and the right strategy are expected to bring FKIP Unram to the international accreditation it dreams of, while making a real contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
