Mataram, August 12, 2025 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the University of Mataram organized a public lecture themed “Ethics of AI Utilization in Academia”, featuring Prof. Dr. Eng. Wisnu Jatmiko, Chair of the Ethics Committee of the Council of Professors at Universitas Indonesia. The event served as an important platform to enhance ethical literacy in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within higher education.

In his opening remarks, Dean of FKIP Unram, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D., emphasized that the rapid development of AI has brought significant impacts to the field of education. “Prof. Wisnu has an outstanding track record in AI, and we hope this session provides great benefits while fostering a wise approach to utilizing this technology,” he stated.

Prof. Wisnu’s presentation covered two main topics: Ethics of AI Utilization in Academia and Coaching on Writing Reputable International Scientific Articles: Maximizing the Use of AI Tools. He highlighted the importance of maintaining academic integrity, avoiding plagiarism, and understanding the boundaries of AI use so that it does not diminish the role of humans as the primary decision-makers.

In addition, the interactive coaching session equipped participants with practical skills in using AI-based tools such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, and data analysis software to support the development of high-quality international publications.

This event is expected to be a strategic step for FKIP Unram in cultivating an academic culture that is innovative, ethical, and responsible in the digital era.
