Mataram – The graduation ceremony for Master’s and Bachelor’s programs at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), University of Mataram, for the July to September 2025 period, was held solemnly at the M. Yusuf Abu Bakar Auditorium on Tuesday, September 17, 2025. The event, attended by faculty leaders, department chairs, study program coordinators, lecturers, academic staff, and the families of graduates, marked an important milestone that reaffirmed FKIP’s commitment to producing excellent and globally competitive human resources. The procession began with the reading of the official graduation decree by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Saprizal Hadisaputra, M.Sc., followed by the announcement of graduates’ names by department chairs or program coordinators, and concluded with the official confirmation by the Dean of FKIP, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D.

In July 2025, FKIP graduated 405 students with an average GPA of 3.56, 108 of whom earned the cum laude distinction. Meanwhile, the September 2025 period produced 157 graduates with an average GPA of 3.61, with 56 also achieving cum laude honors. Among the graduates was Abdul Gawi, a visually impaired student who successfully completed his studies on time with a GPA of 3.64 and a “very satisfactory” distinction. His success is a testament to FKIP’s commitment to providing inclusive education, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality and Inclusive Education.

In his address, the Dean expressed his appreciation to all graduates for their achievements. He emphasized that with most study programs holding “excellent” accreditation, FKIP graduates are well-positioned to contribute meaningfully at both national and global levels. He also reminded them of the importance of lifelong learning and adaptability in facing the changing times, so that FKIP alumni become not only academically competent educators but also individuals of strong character and innovation, ready to meet the challenges of 21st-century education.

Representing the graduates, Ali Suria from the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program, with a GPA of 3.95, shared his reflections by quoting, “Whoever takes a path to seek knowledge, Allah will make the path to paradise easy for him.” He also recalled Nelson Mandela’s words, “Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.” Ali encouraged his fellow graduates to leave the ceremony with the determination to make meaningful contributions to society, the nation, and the world through sincere and professional service.

The ceremony also served as a reflection of FKIP University of Mataram’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development goals. By producing graduates with integrity, global competence, and respect for diversity, FKIP continues to strengthen its role as a higher education institution that is impactful, excellent, and globally competitive. The event concluded with a sense of pride and emotion, marking the beginning of a new journey for the graduates to serve and create positive change in society.
