Dr. Ahmad Junaidi, a lecturer in the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), University of Mataram, served as one of the speakers at the Disaster Justice Workshop held on 12–13 August 2025 in Central Lombok.

This event was organized through a collaboration between a research team from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and the Jage Kastare Foundation. The workshop adopted the concept of 'Warung Saling Tunah' as an open, creative, and participatory space for dialogue.

A total of 30 participants from diverse backgrounds took part in the event, including farmers and teachers who are disaster survivors, child marriage prevention activists, disability groups, tourism practitioners, anti–sexual violence advocates, as well as individuals affected by land relocation.

Through artistic and visual approaches, participants were encouraged to share experiences, respect local knowledge, and collectively formulate a 'Recipe for Disaster Justice'.

The participation of FKIP University of Mataram, represented by Dr. Ahmad Junaidi, underscores the university’s commitment to promoting inclusive disaster resilience in Central Lombok. The involvement of academics is expected to strengthen the bridge between scientific knowledge and local community experiences, thereby fostering more just and sustainable solutions in disaster response.
