Students of the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program at FKIP Universitas Mataram are part of an academic community whose life extends well beyond the lecture hall. Alongside their coursework, students are given room to develop their potential through academic and non-academic activities that build capability in education, leadership, creativity, and organisation.
As future educators, PGSD students are encouraged to develop their abilities, produce work of their own, take part in a wide range of activities and competitions, and carry the name of the PGSD Study Program at FKIP Universitas Mataram into wider arenas. This page brings together the achievements, activities, experiences, and contributions of PGSD students, both as a record of that journey and as a form of appreciation for it.
Student Association of PGSD (HMPS PGSD)
The Student Association of the PGSD Study Program (HMPS PGSD) at FKIP Universitas Mataram is the student organisation that gives PGSD students a place to grow, to take part, and to contribute throughout their time at university. HMPS PGSD is a shared space in which students gain not only academic experience but also develop leadership, communication, teamwork, creativity, event management, and a sense of care for the community around them.
As part of student life within the PGSD Study Program, HMPS PGSD works to connect students with the programmes and activities that support their development. The organisation is also a place for students to voice their aspirations, exchange ideas, build relationships, and create activities that answer real student needs. HMPS PGSD is made up of several divisions, each with its own focus and responsibilities; together they carry out the work programmes, develop student potential, and support the goals of the organisation.
Work Programmes and Activity Documentation
1. GERHANA (Meaningful Ramadan Movement)

GERHANA is the flagship work programme of the Religious Affairs Division of HMPS PGSD 2026, carried out as a student contribution to filling the month of Ramadan with activity that matters. Under the theme “Moving Together in Faith, Sharing Kindness in Ramadan”, GERHANA serves to strengthen faith, nurture social awareness, draw people closer together, and build a sense of community among students, board members, alumni, and the public.
The programme runs through Campus Ramadan, the sharing of takjil, social assistance, a poster design competition, a tartil competition, a quiz competition, and a closing day of festivities. It reaches students of the PGSD and PG-PAUD study programs at FKIP Universitas Mataram, HMPS PGSD alumni, the surrounding community, and the children of the Hidayaturrahman Babakan orphanage. Through these activities, GERHANA is intended as a space in which students can spread kindness, deepen religious values, strengthen their concern for others, and build solidarity both on campus and in the community.
2. SIGMA (Student Synergy for Community Service)

SIGMA is the community service work programme of HMPS PGSD, run by the Media and Community Communication (MKM) Division as a realisation of one of the three pillars of higher education: service to the community. It gives PGSD students a setting in which to apply what they have learned while learning directly alongside the people they serve.
In 2026, SIGMA was held over eight days in Teniga Village, Tanjung District, North Lombok Regency. Students took part in activities spanning education, religion, and community life: teaching in primary schools in line with their PGSD background, leading Qur’an recitation each evening, and joining competitions for the community as well as for primary school children. The programme opened with a formal ceremony and closed with a ceremonial evening. Through SIGMA, students contributed to the community while gaining first-hand experience in interacting, collaborating, teaching, and understanding community life.
3. Leadership and Organisational Management Training (LKMO) and New Board Recruitment (PPB)

LKMO and PPB are work programmes of the Cadre Development Division of HMPS PGSD 2026, and form an important part of how the organisation develops and renews itself. Both prepare the students who will join the HMPS PGSD board and ensure the continuity of the organisation through a new generation of members.
LKMO focuses on equipping prospective board members with skills in leadership and organisational management. Students are introduced to the organisation, come to understand the roles and responsibilities of a board member, and develop their communication, teamwork, discipline, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. PPB is the stage at which students are accepted as prospective new board members, as part of the organisation’s regeneration. Together the two programmes aim to produce board members who are ready to carry out their duties and who bring a sense of responsibility and care for the future of the association.
4. Begibung and Family Gathering

Begibung and Family Gathering are work programmes of the Cadre Development Division that serve to strengthen the bonds between board members and build closer relationships among them. Both are held in a relaxed and companionable setting in which the whole board can get to know one another, interact, and deepen the sense of family within the organisation.
Begibung takes the form of cooking and eating together, with the entire HMPS PGSD board involved; the act of cooking together is itself an important part of building cooperation. Family Gathering is filled with shared activities such as games that encourage teamwork and cohesion. Through both, HMPS PGSD works towards a board that is more harmonious, more solid, and closer-knit.
5. Teaching Module, Essay, and PKM Classes

The Teaching Module Class, the Essay Class, and the PKM Class are work programmes of the Education and Reasoning (PDP) Division of HMPS PGSD 2026, giving PGSD students a place to develop their academic abilities and potential. All three take the form of learning classes that offer students knowledge, guidance, and practical experience in producing academic work.
The Teaching Module Class focuses on helping students understand and construct teaching modules for use in the classroom. The Essay Class gives students room to find and develop ideas, write essays, and learn how to submit their work. Through these classes, HMPS PGSD encourages students to take a more active part in developing their academic skills, producing work of their own, and stepping forward to take up academic opportunities.
6. Islamic Studies (Kajian) and Malam Bina Iman (MBI)
Kajian and Malam Bina Iman (MBI) are work programmes of the Religious Affairs Division of HMPS PGSD 2026, part of the effort to strengthen the faith and devotion of PGSD students. Both give students room to deepen their religious understanding, receive spiritual guidance, and build the habit of taking part in religious activity on campus.
Kajian sessions bring in speakers with experience and understanding in religious matters to deliver material and offer spiritual reflection. Malam Bina Iman is held regularly, particularly on Thursday evenings, with a sequence that includes congregational Maghrib prayer, recitation of Surah Yasin and Al-Kahf, and congregational Isha prayer. Through Kajian and MBI, HMPS PGSD works to create an organisation that is active not only in academic and student affairs but also in nurturing spiritual values and a sense of togetherness among students.
Student Achievements
Joint Class and Heritage Trail 2026

M. Rayyan Barqi Ratias, a student of the PGSD Study Program at FKIP Universitas Mataram, took part in Joint Class and Heritage Trail 2026, a collaborative programme between Universitas Mataram, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), and Universitas Airlangga. The programme offered cross-cultural learning while introducing participants to academic life, culture, and local heritage in Terengganu, Malaysia.
Activities ran through academic sessions, educational visits, cultural practice, environmental work, and interaction with UMT students and staff. Participants encountered aspects of Terengganu culture first-hand, among them batik, traditional food, the tanjak, and dance. For PGSD students, taking part supported the development of academic perspective and personal capability, particularly in communication, teamwork, adapting to new surroundings, and understanding cultural diversity, while widening their networks beyond the campus.
National Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM) 2026

PGSD students at FKIP Universitas Mataram also distinguished themselves at the 2026 National Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM). A team led by Muhammad Zulfikar, with members Alifa Ula Erticha, Leilany Filia Rahmatunnisa, and Muhammad Zaidan Zainul Mutakim, advanced as national finalists in the Educational Digital Poster (PDP) Division. The team was the sole representative of Universitas Mataram and the only delegation from the Province of West Nusa Tenggara to reach the national final in that division.
Their entry, a digital poster titled “Satu Layar Sentuh, Ribuan Nalar Runtuh”, addressed the moral crisis facing children exposed to pornographic content online. Beyond the visual message, the work set out follow-up proposals: direct education, a digital risk assessment instrument, and a social media campaign. The achievement shows that PGSD students have room to develop ideas and produce work beyond their coursework, and to carry the names of Universitas Mataram and West Nusa Tenggara to the national stage.
National Indoor Hockey Championship (Kejurnas Hockey Indoor) 2026
Natasya Dita Gustina, a student of the PGSD Study Program at FKIP Universitas Mataram, has made her mark in sport through the 2026 National Indoor Hockey Championship, held at the Nambo Jaya Sport Centre in Tangerang, Banten. Natasya competed as part of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial hockey team in the Tier 1 category alongside teams from across Indonesia, and the NTB women’s team finished third in Tier 1. Before the championship, she came through a selection process at the NTB PORPROV games that determined the players who would represent the province.
The championship is part of a longer run of achievement in the sport. Natasya has competed at national level three times before, including a third place at the National Student Championship in NTB and a fourth place at a subsequent championship in Bandung. The experience has been an opportunity to develop her ability, discipline, teamwork, and competitive mentality, and it shows that PGSD students at FKIP Universitas Mataram can grow and excel across many fields, academic and otherwise.
